Frequently Asked Questions
-
Facial sculpting leverages dermal filler injections to create a more balanced, bold, sculpted appearance of the face. This is a non-invasive procedure leveraging FDA-approved products.
Dermal fillers may be injected in one or multiple areas, such as cheeks, jawline, chin, lips, nasolabial folds, temples, and undereyes.
-
Dermal fillers can achieve facial sculpting by lengthening the chin, boldening the jawline, restoring volume, enhancing symmetry, and smoothing lines. Dermal fillers are typically made of hyaluronic acid (HA), a substance that occurs naturally in the skin and helps keep it plump and hydrated. When injected, the HA attracts water to itself, which produces a plumping effect.

The procedure typically takes 30–60 minutes. A numbing cream is applied to minimize discomfort during the injections. Results are visible immediately, though some swelling and minor bruising may occur for a few days. Most patients fully recover within a week.
Key points to remember after treatment:
Ice packs: Apply ice packs to the treated area for 10-minute intervals to reduce swelling and discomfort immediately after the procedure.
Avoid pressure: Don't touch, massage, or put pressure on your lips by kissing, pursing, or using a straw.
Hydration: Drink plenty of water to support healing.
Sleep position: Sleep with your head elevated on pillows to minimize swelling.
Makeup and lip products: Avoid wearing lipstick, lip balm, or any other lip products for at least 24 hours.
Heat exposure: Stay away from hot showers, saunas, steam rooms, and hot beverages as they can increase swelling.
Exercise: Avoid strenuous exercise for at least 24 hours.
Alcohol and smoking: Refrain from alcohol and smoking as they can impact healing and increase bruising.
Follow-up appointments: Attend scheduled follow-up appointments with your healthcare provider to monitor healing and address any concerns.
